NSF Engines: Piedmont Triad Regenerative Medicine Engine

A new $3 million initiative, funded by the Ascendium Education Group, will further strengthen workforce development and tech-driven economic growth in the Piedmont Triad. The Accelerator for Community Colleges in the Innovation Economy run by New America, a non-profit organization focused on innovation and public policy, will offer:

  • Mini-grants to build institutional capacity.
  • Technical assistance and best practices for emerging technology training.
  • National convenings and regional summits to foster collaboration.
  • Strategic support for policy, media, and workforce programs.

With Forsyth Tech Community College, a Piedmont Triad Regenerative Medicine Engine (PTRME) partner, and its President Janet Spriggs chairing the Accelerator’s Presidents’ Council, our region is poised to play a key role in shaping the national workforce for advanced technologies.

As an NSF Regional Innovation Engine, PTRME is at the forefront of this initiative, amplifying efforts to build a diverse, skilled workforce and driving the economic competitiveness of the Triad and beyond.
